Description:
Never build inside the circles around cores :)
Upgrading beams is enough. I usually stay on Jester to upgrade, wheel and help out at ogre hotspots (Really pay attention to the massive goblin copter drops in this area).
Start upgrading at hint 3, go to one star first and in a second round to max level. Continue in a counter-clock wise fashion from the first beam onwards.
